ITHB Facilitated SMAK 1 BPK Penabur’s Annual Retreat
An successful education produces graduates who are not only highly intellectual, but also who know the truth and walk in ethics as guided by their faith and awareness of divine purpose in a person’s life. With this underlying philosophy, SMAK 1 BPK Penabur Bandung has been running annual retreat program, called ‘Bina Iman’ for its twelfth graders that aims to prepare them for both the final year and the national examinations.
Recognizing ITHB as a higher education institution that consistently pays special attention to spiritual growth programs, SMAK 1 BPK Penabur invited Institut Teknologi Harapan Bangsa to host and run all the sessions of SMAK 1 BPK Penabur Two-Day Annual Bina Iman Retreat (28-29 January 2016) at Hotel Narima, Lembang. The retreat featured “More than a Champion” as the theme and was attended by 297 final year students.
The interactive sessions helped the students to learn how to identify opportunities that are abound before them, how to determine goals and targets in study, career, and life, how to manage time and priorities, who they are in Christ, God given talents and gifts, and how to walk with God in every step of life. A deeper understanding of these elements would enable the students to fully utilize their potentials and make the most of each opportunity that they will encounter in life.
The series of lectures, workshops, games, and reflection featured experienced business leaders and academics such as Dr. Ir. Samuel Tarigan, MBA, Maclaurin Hutagalung, Ph.D., Anggoro Prasetyo, M.T., Inge Martina, M.T., and Sesilia Perangin-angin. Having understood their role as future leaders, the students followed every session with full attention.
ITHB wishes SMAK BPK 1’s twelfth graders every success in their final examination this year as well as in their future endeavors. May God always bless them.
